Before any of the degrees, I spent 4 years jumping out of helicopters as a Navy Aviation Rescue Swimmer. You learn a lot about yourself when the ocean is trying to kill you. Mostly that quitting isn't an option — in the water or in the gym.
I hold a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Southern Maine and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont. After graduating, I spent years as a travel PT working coast to coast across 10+ states — from rural Maine to Southern California — treating everything from post-surgical rehab to complex neurological conditions.
